Yesterday, Congress ruled Jharkhand became the fifth state to withdraw the ‘general consent’ to the CBI. Jharkhand followed two other states i.e. Kerala and Maharashtra which recently took the decision of not allowing the investigation agency to probe cases in their respective states.
After Maharashtra withdrew the general consent to the CBI to probe cases in the state on October 21, the Kerala Government has followed the suit and has become yet another state to withdraw the general consent to the probe agency.
The Uttar Pradesh government will now take a decision by November 25 on the removal or retention of Praveen Kumar, the District Magistrate (DM) of Hathras.

New Delhi (ILNS): The Punjab and Haryana High Court has ordered the additional home secretary of the state to file an affidavit in by November 16, informing how many tainted Police personnel or Officers are posted at all positions in the Police.
The bench said that all aspects of the Hathras case, including security to the victim's family and witnesses, will be looked after by the Allahabad High Court.
