The Supreme Court on Thursday has imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on the Central government over the frequent delay in filing appeals by government departments, state governments and public authorities.
The Supreme Court on Wednesday sought responses from the central government, West Bengal government and the Association for Protection of Democratic Rights on the report submitted by a committee setting a guideline on the valuation of trees.
However, the Chief Justice kept the matter for hearing respondents tomorrow stating, "We are also having virtual and physical mixture also, let us put for tomorrow, let us use those cameras and screens on you."
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said Cable Television Network is a network through which these programmmes are broadcast. On which, the CJI replied that the greater may include the lesser. Just because cable television network regulates it does jot mean it includes television.
The ASG said to the Court that the central government has taken a strong note of the New Privacy Policy of WhatsApp, which is giving differential treatment to its Indian users and is a cause of concern for the government.
