The Supreme Court said the steps taken by the Delhi and Central governments in the last few weeks have not worked to reduce Delhi air pollution with it getting worse. The Apex Court said vehicular, industrial pollution is holding back real progress. Centre said Central Vista work not causing pollution.
Supreme Court bench dismissed the petition filed by Rajeev Suri, who had unsuccessfully challenged the notifications for the Central Vista Project earlier.
The appeal in SC further states, “The impugned judgment apart from misconstruing the bonafide intention of the petitioners, without cause cast them in a negative light at the cost of their right to reputation.”
