Chief Justice of India N.V. Ramana on Monday proposed setting up of a National Judicial Infrastructure Authority of India (NJIAI) for arrangement of adequate infrastructure for courts in the country.
The centrally-sponsored scheme approved by the Union Cabinet will help in construction of 3,800 court halls and 4,000 residential units for judicial officers of district and subordinate courts, 1,450 lawyer halls, 1,450 toilet complexes, and 3,800 digital computer rooms.
