The Bombay High Court has recently disposed of a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking investigation of the case by the Commissioner of Police under High Court supervision over the entire amount taken by private respondents from the Municipal Corporation for Greater Mumbai (MCGM) and a FIR may be registered accordingly.
The division bench of Bombay High Court while considering the PIL alleging that Mumbai Municipal Corporation has constructed a temporary bamboo shed without complying with the statutory requisites issued notice to the Respondents.
The Court said they are leaving it to the wisdom of the Task Force to incorporate such measures as would ultimately benefit the elderly and the disabled citizens, in whose interest such guidelines have been conceived.
A bench led by the Chief Justice Dipankar Datta & Justice G.S. Kulkarni has noted that there is no categorical prohibition imposed by the Central Government for the States to undertake a door-to-door vaccination program, for the elderly and disabled citizens.
