Senior Advocate Rajiv Nayar has written to Chief Justice of Delhi High Court Justice D.N. Patel raising concern over the new Omicron variant of Covid-19 and requested the court to revert to virtual hearing mode once again.
The Supreme Court on Monday directed the Chief Justice of Delhi High Court to expeditiously start hearing in the case related to the forced compulsory retirement of an IRS officer of the 1985 batch, who was compulsorily retired in 2019, in accordance with Fundamental Rule 56 (j).
A Bench of Chief Justice DN Patel and Justice Jyoti Singh said: “No writ can be entertained on behalf of the businessman or a group of businessmen in the name of Public Interest Litigation.
The Counsel for the respondent submitted before the court that they have filed the status report in this regard and clearly stated that it is not possible to do so.
Surinder S Rathi, an officer of Delhi Higher Judicial Services has been appointed as an Officer on Special Duty-cum-Registrar to the Hon’ble Chief Justice Delhi High Court, w.e.f. July 1 vide notification dated 30.06.2020 on deputation basis for a period of One year.
