The first resolution relates to the National Judicial Infrastructure Authority of India (NJIAI). The CJI said, "To support the NJIAI, complementary state bodies are to be created as special purpose vehicles which will help in creation and augmentation of judicial infrastructure in the country.
Chief Justice of India Justice N.V. Ramana urged the legal fraternity and young lawyers especially that they must assist judges and the institution. Protect the institution from motivated and targeted attacks, he said. "We are all ultimately part of one large family. Do not shy away from standing up for what is right, and against what is wrong.”
The CJI said the debates focus on statements taken out of context with everybody set on pursuing their own agenda. Even minor observations by the courts were being turned into controversial issues, he noted.
The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the transfer of the Chief Justices of five High Courts to other states. The Collegium headed by Chief Justice of India Justice N.V. Ramana has made the recommendations on September 16.
The proposal for a hike in sanctioned bench strength in view of the higher pendency in Telangana High Court was sent to the Union Minister of Law and Justice by the then CJ of High Court of Telangana on February 13, 2019 after the endorsement of the chief minister and the then Governor of Telangana.
