The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) has unanimously decided to write a letter to the Chief Justice of India, requesting him to hear them against the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) issued by the Apex Court for hybrid physical hearing without any consultation with the Bar.
The Court has constituted a panel to speed up disposal of cheque bounce cases. It said the centre would allocate space for its functioning and give allowances. The panel has to submit its report within three months.
Chief Justice of India S.A. Bobde on Wednesday recommended the central government to appoint Justice NV Ramana as his successor. Chief Justice Bobde is set to retire on April 23.
The Supreme Court today has deferred hearing on a plea filed by Ramachnadapura Math against the decision of the Karnataka High Court which had constituted a “overseeing committee” and handed over the management of the Gokarna Temple to the said committee instead of the petitioner Math.
President of SCBA, Vikash Singh signed the letter claiming that the Auditorium was denied at the time when the SCBA was giving its farewell to Hon'ble Ms Justice Indu Malhotra.
While hearing the case Chief Justice of India said other members of the Committee will be officer from the Dept of financial services not under the rank of additional secretary.
