Chief Justice of India Justice N.V. Ramana on Monday said it will hear the impleadment application by a group of builders seeking the removal of the ban on construction in the National Capital Region on Friday while turning down the request for urgent listing.

CJI Ramana said that it’s just a myth that in the last two decades there has been a paradigm shift between the numbers of affected persons from urban to rural areas.

A bench Supreme Court said that the suo motu extension of limitation period will stand withdrawn with effect from October 1, 2021. The Court observed that as the COVID-19 cases have come down and indicated that a buffer period of 90 days will be given with effect from October 1.
