Chief Justice of India N.V. Ramana today expressed concern over the delay in the finalization of a Central scheme to comabt hunger and malnutrition. “We are concerned about the hunger, people and children dying because of hunger,” CJI Justice Ramana said.
The Supreme Court on Monday said it's unfortunate while expressing displeasure over not taking emergent measures to curb air pollution and directed the Centre and the states to convene an executive meeting and implement a plan to curb air pollution by tomorrow evening.
CJI Ramana stated that people who are suffering do not look for well dressed, erudite lawyers or colossal court buildings. All they want is to be relieved of their pain quickly, without exhausting all their resources.
The pan India awareness and outreach campaign was launched on October 2, and it was set to be concluded on November 14. The event was organised by the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), to spread awareness about the legal services in every nook and corner of the country.
