The Supreme Court on Monday heard the matter regarding compensation for deaths caused due to corona. The Apex Court noted that there are many people who have lost their relatives due to COVID-19 pandemic and still do not know anything about the compensation plan.
The Delhi HC has framed a FastDAR (FAST- DETAILED ACCIDENT REPORT ) Scheme for resolving a road accident death cases within ten days. The victim's family will received the compensation without having to file any compensation case as the FastDAR will be treated as a claim petition by the Tribunal.
The Supreme Court bench comprising Justice D Y Chandrachud and Ajay Rastogi has held that when a complaint contains a claim for payment in Indian rupees, payment is to be made in Indian Rupees.
