The Supreme Court on Tuesday asked the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to file an affidavit on an interim bail plea filed by 74-year-old former Congress leader Sajjan Kumar on health grounds, who was convicted in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots case.
The petitioner was arrested under the charges of abduction and murder of Bhanwari Devi in connection with FIR for the offences under Sections 120B, 364, 302, and 201 IPC and Section 3(2)(v) of SC/ ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
The ASJ had arrayed Govind Singh as an accused under Section 319 (power to proceed against other persons appearing to be guilty of an offence) of the CrPC.
