The Supreme Court on Friday disposed of the plea seeking directions to the Election Commission of India to issue Covid-19 norms to all political parties against physical rallies in the wake of Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Manipur and Goa.
The Delhi High Court on Thursday adjourned a batch of petitions seeking allowing sale and service of 'Herbal Hookah' in Delhi, filed by various restaurants, bars and lounges.
The Supreme Court bench headed by Justices AM Khanwilkar, Dinesh Maheshwari & Aniruddha Bose dismissed the plea against the Delhi HC order which had dismissed the plea seeking to halt the construction of “Central Vista Redevelopment Project” and had imposed a cost of One lakh on petitioners.
The Delhi Police has informed the Delhi High Court that AAP MLAs Raghav Chadha and Atishi Marlena cannot be allowed to hold a protest outside the residence of Home Minister Amit Shah
Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva said the District Magistrate should pass an order asking the protesters to shift in the wake of the DDMA order. It also said that if the order is not complied with by protesters, then the police can take action in accordance with the law.
The HC issued a notice on the plea by Raghav Chadha and Atishi and directed Delhi Police to file its reply. The next date of hearing has been set on January 14, 2021.
