Supreme Court directed the State Commission to prepare a chart showing which petitioners are eligible for which categories of the available vacancy this year or next year or as case may be. However, one of the Petitioners, Chandan Bharatiya, who has not cleared the eligibility is dismissed from the case.
The Bar Council of Delhi has suspended a lawyer's license for allegedly making a fake Covid report to get financial help which earlier announced the Bar.
The Delhi Bar Council said that these activities aren't permissible nor are part of a professional advocate & conduct in performing a Nikah and issuance of a certificate of conversion and Nikahnama/Marriage Certificate is totally disgraceful & negates the dignity of the legal profession.
The petitioner advocate Prashant Bhushan has also sought directions from the Delhi High Court to quash the said proceedings initiated by the Bar Council of Delhi.
Trust has come forward to help advocates who need financial help in the fight against COVID. On Wednesday (July 8) advocate Sanjay Jain, appearing for the Advocate Welfare Committee Trust, informed the Delhi High court.
The BCI petition said that advocates keep contributing on a regular basis during the course of their practice, all that ending up in government coffers. In particular, the petition said, advocates generate funds by way court-fee and advocates welfare funds.
The High Court of Delhi has today adjourned the plea seeking financial aid for needy advocates in the form of ex-gratia of Rs.25,000/- (Rupees Twenty Fives Thousand Only)
