The Delhi High Court on Tuesday allowed further time to the Delhi Government to file a status report in a bail application filed by a person accused of illegally procuring over 500 oxygen concentrators.
Justice Asha Menon asked the petitioner to take appropriate action against the decision taken by the nodal authority. The counsel for the petitioner submitted that even after one year of the passing away of the wife, no action has been taken by the concerned authorities in releasing the said amount.
In the previous hearing, the petitioner submitted before the Court that the people of Delhi need a dedicated facility from the Government to help them in handling and transporting the dead bodies infected of Covid.
The Delhi High Court has sought a response from the Registrar General of Delhi High Court and the Delhi government in a petition seeking direction to make, and issue general rules for regulating the practice and proceedings of district courts in the best interest of justice.
The Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD) will place before the Delhi High Court today, the status report regarding the portal created for tracking the complete channel for distribution of Covid-19, Mucormycosis (Black Fungus) medicines.
The court said: “We make it clear, that if we find that these provisions are not implemented, we will ourselves deal with the failure of GNCTD for implementation of the act (the Juvenile Justice Act), and consequences would follow for those don’t perform.”
After hearing the Counsels for both sides and looking into the facts and circumstances, the Bench said that it sees no reason to entertain the writ petition and not inclined even to issue a notice in this case.
The Delhi High Court has issued fresh notice to the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change and Road Transport & Highways in a plea against the Delhi Government's guidelines for Scrapping of Motor Vehicles Act of Delhi 2018.
