The Central Bureau of Investigation has informed the Delhi High Court that the Directorate of Prosecution has got full autonomy and there is no interference in the functioning of a law officer and it has no decision-making power in the appointment of the Director of Prosecution.
A Delhi High Court single-Judge bench of Justice Rekha Palli issued Notice to the Delhi Government and expressed: “It is expected that Delhi Disaster Management Authority will consider this aspect on an urgent basis.”
Delhi High Court is seized of the matter challenging the appointment of Gujarat-cadre IPS Officer Rakesh Asthana as the Delhi Police Commissioner, filed by one Sadre Alam and an intervention application in the same plea was also allowed by the court filed by an NGO by the name of CPIL.
