The plea in Delhi High Court alleges that the Delhi Police failed to take cognizance of the actions by the named publications/portals/news organizations and social media platforms, as disclosure of identity of Hathras gangrape victims is a punishable offence under Section 228A of the Indian Penal Code.
Relying on the decision of the Delhi High Court in “Jayswal Neco Ltd. Vs. Union of India & Ors.”, Advocate V.K Shukla, representing the petitioner, contended that the jurisdiction vests with Delhi High Court in as much as the Railway Board is situated in Delhi.
The Delhi High Court division bench issued a notice in the plea by one Dr. Snigdha Kamini, challenging the National Board of Examinations, and the government’s decision that declared her ineligible to take the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-SS 2021 examination.
The Delhi High Court has dismissed a plea filed by a woman seeking compensation of Rs 20 lakh from Amul and the Food Safety Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) alleging she became severely ill after consuming Amul “Chhach”, which contained a rotten piece of chicken, and has been facing severe psychological distress ever since.
The ministry also relied on the remark made by the FSSAI that anything which is non-food (not consumed by humans) is not within the ambit of FSSAI Act, 2006 and concluded that animal feed is not regulated by FSSAI.
The Central government has informed the Delhi High Court that it would undertake to supply Covid-19 vaccines free of cost to all states and union territories as part of the Revised Guidelines for implementation of Covid-19 Vaccination Programme issued in June this year.
