The other issue that came up before the Bench of Justices Vipin Sanghi and Rekha Palli today was that while the entire country was striving to get hold of life-saving medicines such as Remdesivir and others.
The Delhi High Court on Monday asked the Bar Council of India (BCI) to find out if the owners of a hospital in Dwarka, where a few beds were available, were willing to hand it over for COVID treatment.
In such a situation, instead of saying that beds without oxygen are useless, the government should consider taking the help of the Army in supplying oxygen to the patients,” he added
The court directed the Central Govt to supply oxygen by whatever means. Justice Sanghi said: “Do you want us to let people die in Delhi? Do u want us to shut our eyes?”
Further, it is submitted that when the beds under Covid-19 category are seen, the same is also misleading in as much as a large number of these beds are not oxygenated.
Lawyer Rahul Mehra said that Mohalla clinics are in small crowded places would not be able to manage so many people. A large number of doctors may be called upon by a central helpline number like 101.
The Delhi High Court on Tuesday issued a Contempt notice to the official suppliers of the Delhi government supplying oxygen to various hospitals in the national capital, in the issue of hospitals not getting adequate oxygen for the patients suffering from Covid-19.
