A petition has been filed before the Delhi High Court seeking directions to the private schools in National Capital Territory of Delhi, not to charge fees of any nature in wake of the current COVID-19 pandemic in the interest of justice.
Delhi High Court has held that there were good and justifiable grounds for extending the investigation and the respondents were justified contending that compelling reasons mean good or sufficient reasons that justify the extension of the investigation beyond a period of 90 days.
The Delhi High Court today (July 9) cut to the chase and directed that the DU must be clear and candid with the students and give clear timelines. “Have some empathy for the students,” the court commented.
The division bench, comprising Justices Vipin Sanghi and Rajnish Bhatnagar has also directed the Delhi Police and DDA to file a status report, clearly stating as to how many Mazars are in existence within the area and since when.
