The Delhi High Court has issued notice on a plea filed by a human trafficking victim seeking a compensation of Rs 19 Lakhs under the Delhi Victim Compensation Scheme, 2018.
The single judge Delhi High Court Bench was informed by the counsel for the Delhi Government that the nodal authority to decide the representation is the District Legal Services Authority, South, and that the petitioner’s representation has already been forwarded to the said authority.
The Delhi High Court on Thursday, while passing the order in a writ petition, raised an important issue on whether the compensation under the Delhi Victim Compensation Scheme, 2018 can be availed by the legal heirs of the deceased.
