A Bench of Chief Justice DN Patel and Justice Jyoti Singh said: “No writ can be entertained on behalf of the businessman or a group of businessmen in the name of Public Interest Litigation.
The Counsel for the respondent submitted before the court that they have filed the status report in this regard and clearly stated that it is not possible to do so.
While hearing a PIL, a bench of Chief Justice DN Patel and Justice Prateek Jalan had also asked the Center what steps have been taken on the issue brought to the notice of the government in September this year
In the wake of Covid-19, all courts have remained shut for nearly five months and have been holding hearings through video conferencing. Although lockdown restrictions were eased from June onwards, courts have continued to hold only virtual hearings.
