The Allahabad High Court has sought the response of Election Commission on a plea by Shraddha Tripathi challenging the constitutional validity of Paras-10, 10A and 10-B of the Symbol Order 1968 on several counts interalia that said Paras are in conflict with the provisions of Rule-10 of the Conduct of Election Rules, 1961.

Supreme Court today stayed the Election Commission decision to remove Kamal Nath's name from the list of ‘star campaigners’ in view of repeated violations of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).

Kamal Nath has challenged the Order of Oct 30, of the Election Commission whereby his name was removed from the list of ‘star campaigners’ of the Indian National Congress on the ground of repeated violation of Model Code of Conduct and advisories of the ECI.
