The electoral bonds scheme has run into rough weather ever since it began and the Court will soon be hearing petitions challenging it. They allege that it has opened the doors to unlimited, unchecked funding to political parties in the country
The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed the plea of a non-governmental organisation seeking a stay on the sale of fresh electoral bonds ahead of state assembly elections in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam and the union territory of Puducherry.
In the meanwhile, Chief Justice Bobde expressed concern at the possible misuse of electoral bonds, saying, “We don’t want to get into the political arena.
