The Supreme Court on Tuesday maintained status quo on the regular bail application of Ashish Mishra, son of Union Minister Ajay Mishra, for his alleged involvement in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case of 2021 that led to the death of eight people, including four farmers
The Supreme Court reserved its verdict on Thursday on the bail petition filed by Ashish Mishra, son of Union Minister Ajay Mishra, in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case, which led to the death of eight people, including four farmers
The petitioner contended that Supreme Court as per its earlier order of Dec 16th and Dec 17th had allowed the farmers to continue with the protest in non-violent manner and the same should not result in damage to the life and property of other citizens.
When the farmers, many from the Punjab were met with tear gas, water canons and lathi sticks, it was reminiscent of what happened in the USA to some Black Lives Matter demonstrators.
