Appellant was travelling from Guwahati to Kanpur and he was arrested from Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Railway Station (Mughalsarai). He was charged of gold biscuits (3652.270 gms. amounting Rs.1,42,07,330/) were smuggled by the Appellant
New Delhi (ILNS): The Enforcement Directorate (ED) today issued a fresh summon to the Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's Additional Private Secretary CM Raveendran, as part of the investigation into the gold smuggling case, to appear before the authority on November 27.
New Delhi (ILNS): Just after the advance bail pleas of M. Sivasankar, former Principal Secretary of the Kerala Chief Minister, were rejected today by the Kerala High Court, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) took him into custody.
The Kerala High Court has stayed till October 23 the arrest of senior bureaucrat M. Sivasankar by the Customs department in the gold smuggling case. It will consider his anticipatory bail applications in cases registered by the Customs department as well as those by the Enforcement Directorate.
