The Supreme Court on Monday listed for April 10, a petition filed by the government of Telangana, seeking directions to State Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan to give her assent to 10 key bills passed by the State legislature pending before her.
Telangana has filed a plea in the Supreme Court alleging inaction by the governor regarding assent to several bills. Considering the general disillusionment with governors’ exercise of discretion, an out-of-the-box solution is needed.
