The Bombay High Court on Friday granted temporary bail to lawyer Surendra Gadling, an accused in the Elgar Parishad-Maoist links case, enabling him to perform certain rituals for his mother, who died last year.
The petitioner was arrested under the charges of abduction and murder of Bhanwari Devi in connection with FIR for the offences under Sections 120B, 364, 302, and 201 IPC and Section 3(2)(v) of SC/ ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
It was submitted by Additional Public Prosecutor Sanjeev Sabharwal that after filing of the charge sheet, a supplementary statement of the complainant was recorded on 25.05.2021 in which the complainant has further clarified the allegations
Prosecution case is that a company in the name and style of Ummed Corporation Producer Company was floated by the applicant and her husband and other co-accused persons and cheated various complainants and victims by inducing them to deposit an amount of Rs.2 lacs each.
