The hearing in bail petition of Wasim Rizvi alias Jitendra Narayan Tyagi, accused of delivering hate speech during a Dharam Sansad in Haridwar last year, could not take place in the Uttarakhand High Court on Thursday, as the Judge hearing the matter was on leave.
Dissatisfied with the arrangements for the Haridwar Maha Kumbh, the Uttarakhand High Court has asked the government to complete all the unfinished work by February 22.
“Factors, such as Haridwar being a pilgrimage centre where people may gather in large numbers if such restrictions were not imposed, may have also weighed with the authorities in classifying it as a red zone earlier”, said by the bench of the Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan, and Justice R.C. Khulbe
