The Delhi High Court on Wednesday deferred to September 20, hearing on plea for safeguarding the interest of the children who have lost their parents to Covid-19, and who do not have anyone else to take care of them and face the risk of being trafficked.
Five-time Paralympian shooter Naresh Kumar Sharma has moved the Supreme Court challenging the Delhi High Court order against his arbitrary non-selection for the Tokyo Paralympic Games 2020. The petitioner has challenged the Delhi HC order saying it didn't take into account the urgency of the matter.
The bench while posting the matter for further hearing on June 22 said, “Matter will be taken up on Tuesday. In the meantime, we hope the HC will not hear the matter on Monday or Tuesday."
In the notification it was clarified that e-filing mode as well as physical filing mode is continued only for extremely urgent matters and Cause list will be published on previous working day
Despite these legislative provisions, the Supreme Court noted that as on 12 July, trial was completed in only 911 of the 24,212 child sexual abuse cases registered in India from 1 January to 30 June 2019.
