The Supreme Court on Friday quashed criminal proceedings and a non-bailable warrant issued against a woman in a case of alleged suicide under the SC/ST Act and observed that abetment involves the mental process of instigating or intentionally aiding a person in doing a thing.
A bench headed by the Chief Justice Govind Mathur and Justice Siddharth Verma was hearing a petition filed by Shahid Ali, seeking a direction from the State Government to allow opening of Mosques and ‘Eidgah’ for an hour on the occasion of Eid to allow the Muslims to offer ‘EidNamaz’.
