The Chief Justice of India, DY Chandrachud, has taken strong exception to High Courts being “tech indifferent” and judges not being tech friendly. He has issued directions to courts to ensure video conferencing and hybrid hearing
Calling the hybrid system a great facility, which would go a long way in strengthening the justice delivery system by saving resources, the Supreme Court has suggested all courts across the country to provide the option of virtual presence to all stakeholders.
The breakout of Covid-19 necessitated the formation of digital courts. However, not all lawyers are conversant with its intricacies. The way out is hybrid courts like abroad which will serve the citizens well.
