The Delhi High Court on Thursday refused to entertain a “so-called public interest litigation” seeking deportation of those foreign nationals who have been detained solely for overstaying in India beyond their visas to their respective countries.
A local court in Madhubani, Bihar has ordered a Dhobi (washerman), accused of attacking and outraging the modesty of women, to wash the clothes of all women in the town for six months without any charge, as a bail condition.

The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed a Special Leave Petition preferred by the state of Uttarakhand against an order of the Uttarakhand High Court, observing that if a woman willingly allows a person, who is not her husband, to behave like her husband, then he cannot be prosecuted for rape.
