Solicitor General Tushar Mehta is likely to provide bank details to the Supreme Court today, in which the Republic of Italy has to deposit Rs 10 crore, to be given as compensation to the deceased fishermen killed by two Italian marines off the coast of Kerala in 2012.
Taking a tough stand, the Court told the centre to deposit the Rs 10 crore Italy had paid it as compensation for the 2012 shooting incident in which two Indian fishermen were killed.
A three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice S.A. Bobde, and Justices A.S. Bopanna and V. Ramasubramanian said the court will not close this case until the amount of compensation be deposited and disbursed to the families of the victims.
