New Delhi (ILNS): The Home department of the Jammu and Kashmir government has issued an order to continue 2G speed internet till November 26 in the valley.
In the latest development, the MHA has notified land laws paving the way for Indian citizens to buy land in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. The ministry in a statement stated that the order will be called Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization (Adaptation of Central Laws) Third Order, 2020.
A Complaint has been filed against former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti over her controversial remarks while addressing a press conference in Srinagar yesterday.
The release comes two days before her daughter Iltija Mufti’s petition challenging her illegal detention to be heard in Supreme Court was set to expire.
The Supreme Court today placed pointed questions before the Centre, through its counsel, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, on “what is the maximum period for which a person can be detained and whether it (the Centre) proposes to continue detention.”
In a major development the Centre today told the Supreme Court that high speed 4G internet services can be allowed in one district each of Jammu and Kashmir on a trial basis from August 15.
The Supreme Court on Friday has issued notice to the Jammu and Kashmir administration in the plea filed by J&K Bar Association President Mian Abdul Qayoom against the J&K High Court order which had upheld his order of detention under the J&K Public Safety Act.
