The Supreme Court was informed on Tuesday by Bihar government counsel Senior Advocate Ranjit Kumar that the report from the Patna High Court states that this Court has passed order for transfer of the cases but records have not reached the Apex Court from Patna yet.

The Supreme Court on Monday adjourned its hearing till March 25 on a petition filed by three Civil Services aspirants, seeking an extra attempt at the Civil Services examination, claiming that they had to miss the Civil Services Mains exam because they had contracted Covid-19.

The Supreme Court has reiterated that common intention contemplated by Section 34 of the Indian Penal Code pre-supposes prior concert, it requires meeting of minds, and a pre-arranged plan before a man can be vicariously convicted for the criminal act of another while acquitting a man convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment under section 302 read with 34 of the IPC.

The CJI administered oath to Justices Abhay Shreeniwas Oka, Vikram Nath, Jitendra Kumar Maheshwari, Hima Kohli, B.V. Nagarathna, CT Ravikumar, M.M. Sundresh, Bela Trivedi and P.S. Narsimha.

Chief Justice of India Justice N.V. Ramana will administer the oath of office to the nine judge-designates at 10.30 am on Tuesday, August 31 in a ceremony to be held in the auditorium of the Supreme Court's Additional Building Complex.
