A single-judge bench of Punjab and Haryana High Court while hearing a petition filed by Rohit @ Mirchi observed that the compromise cannot be taken as a ground at this stage for grant of bail.
The petitioner said he was arrested for giving speeches, which according to the State, had objectionable contents with regard to Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, and could have resulted in caste-based division, posing a threat to peace and harmony prevailing in the state
Justice Avneesh Jhingan passed the order, after perusing four medical reports submitted by the state of Haryana, pursuant to the Court’s earlier orders in the matter.
