The Madras High Court has recently ruled that the assembling of the law students in front of the Law College cannot constitute unlawful assembly while quashing all the criminal proceedings against law students who were denied permissions to celebrate the birthday of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar

The Madras High Court at Madurai has quashed an FIR against a YouTube video condemning Tablighi Jamaat conference, which was held in March 2020 during the first wave Covid-19 pandemic.The FIR was registered against the Indian YouTuber named Maridhas. Upon complaint of one of the members of Tamil Nadu Muslim Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam, the Melapalayam police had filed the case.

The case of the prosecution is that on June 27, 2020, at 17.38:51 hours, the petitioner browsed, downloaded, and transmitted child pornographic material by using his Sim through his e-mail and Facebook account.
