The Supreme Court has set aside the conviction and sentence of life imprisonment of three people, noting that investigation was faulty and not carried out with the intention of unearthing the truth, but for burying the same fathom deep, for extraneous considerations, while allowing the real culprits named in the FIR to escape.

Sanjay was in jail for the past several years for a bunch of cheating and fraud cases in relation to non-delivery of houses and diversion of money. There are allegations against him that he was wrongly investing one project’s funds in another project.
