The Supreme Court has declined to hear a plea on hate speech and rumour mongering saying advance notice must be first given to respondents in another plea dealing with similar matters.
Highlighting the importance of the Law Commission, The petitioner highlighted the importance of the Law Commision and submitted that the injury to the public was extremely large as the Law Commission of India was headless since September 9, 2018, which made it unable to examine the public issues.
According to the plea, the Apex Court being the custodian of the Constitution and should issue proper directions for implementation of the judicial charter in all the courts to decide the cases within 3 years and to break even and dispose of the backlog by 2023.

Due to weak and ineffective anti-corruption laws, India has never been ranked among top 50 countries in Corruption Perception Index because the Centre has not strengthened laws to weed-out the menace of corruption, which brazenly offends rule of law and individual's right to live with dignity.
