Land belonging to the Arulmighu Thirukanchi Nambigal Temple and Sri Varadharaja Perumal Temple Poonamallee temple was taken over for the Chennai Metro project. The Madras High Court dismissed the PIL since the temples had not objected to it and the lack of locus of the petitioner.
