The Supreme Court has said that the Union of India and states should complete their final arguments so that an order can be passed since the matter of pendency of criminal cases against MPs & MLAs and expeditious disposal of the same by setting up Special Courts has been pending since 2016.
The Supreme Court today has adjourned its hearing in a plea preferred by Apollo Hospitals Enterprises Ltd questioning the adequacy of one-member Commission of Inquiry led by former Justice A. Arumughaswamy to inquire into the circumstances surrounding the demise of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa.
In the notification, applications were invited from the eligible advocates for the post of Special Government Pleader in the Madras High Court and its Bench at Madurai.
