Madras High Court asked the counsel for the petitioner to indicate as to when the road was constructed covering the canal in reference to the representation given, where allegations have been made against the private respondents for construction of a road.
A two-judge bench of Justice M.M. Sundresh and Justice R. Hemalatha, however, made it clear that individuals permitted to immerse the statues would at best go to the water body, drop the statue and come back. There is no question of staying back.
