The Supreme Court disposed of a public interest litigation (PIL) on Monday, which sought direction to the Ministry of External Affairs to formulate guidelines for the safety of Indian citizens flying abroad
The Delhi High Court has dismissed the appeal preferred seeking Central Government to facilitate diplomatic interventions as well as negotiations with the family of the victim, on behalf of Nimisha Priya to save her life by paying blood money (diyah).
Supreme Court bench of had directed petitioner’s counsel Advocate Saurabh Mishra to provide the court with a list of people who are facing similar situations.
An early hearing was sought from the Delhi High Court on the petition seeking intervention of the Government of India in the case of Nimisha Priya, who was awarded the death sentence in Yemen.
