The Delhi High Court on Wednesday asked the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Law & Justice, to decide the representation by a lawyer, alleging that people are still being booked by the police under scrapped legal provisions.
The Supreme Court has dismissed a petition with Rs 10,000 cost, seeking direction to the respondents, including the Union of India (UOI) and others, to pay an ex-gratia of Rs 50 lakh to the kith and kin of advocates, who had died before the age of 60, whether by Covid-19 or any other disease.
The Delhi High Court bench while hearing the petition filed highlighting the recent incidents of children committing suicides, or going into depression refused to entertain a PIL seeking formulation of policy protecting children from online game addiction.
