Supreme Court refuses to entertain petitions seeking to postpone the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) examination, NEET-PG 2023 to be held on March 5
The Supreme Court on Monday directed the Central government to look into a PIL filed by postgraduate doctors alleging that question pattern for NEET-Super Speciality 2021 has been altered, only to favour those who have done post-graduation in general medicine, at the cost of other disciplines (Prateek Rastogi vs National Board of Examination).
The Supreme Court on Monday issued notice to the Central Government, Medical counselling Committee (MCC) and the National Board of Examination (NBE) on a petition filed by 27 Medical Professionals appearing for NEET PG-2021, challenging the reservation policy of Central Government in NEET-PG 2021 for academic year 2021-2022.
During the hearing today A three-judge Supreme Court bench was informed that National Board of Examination has permitted the change of Centre for the petitioners.
The Delhi High Court division bench issued notice in an appeal preferred by the NBE challenging the decision of single-bench of Justice Prateek Jalan, passed on July 5, 2021.
The divisional bench of the Supreme Court observed that the petitioner doctors with BDS from recognized universities and registered with State Dental Council. They also appeared in NEET-MDS 2021 by the National board of examination.
The Supreme Court on Friday refused to pass any direction in a plea filed by candidates due to appear in the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) and seeking a postponement of the said exam from the National Board of Examination amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
Thereafter, the petitioner highlighted the decision of conducting exam is against the Prime Minister’s statement made on 03.05.2021 wherein NEET-PG exam was postponed for 4 months with an assurance that NEET PG will not be conducted till 31.08.2021 and further following statements-
