The Supreme Court has directed the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission to decide afresh on a petition filed by flat owners against the undelivered promises made by the developers
Delhi High Court division bench was dealing with a plea filed by a practising lawyer pointing out backlog of vacancies in the Consumer Forums; inadequacy of staff; lack of infrastructure including supply of drinking water and toilet facilities.
Supreme Court bench suggested the formation of All-India Tribunals Service with respect to the administrative work in the tribunals. The bench tendered an umbrella like allocation of services in the NCLT, NCDRC, DRT and other tribunals under other central legislations.
The Supreme Court on Thursday observed that if a vehicle is being used/driven without a valid registration, an insurance claim can be rejected, since it constitutes a fundamental breach of the terms and conditions of the contract of insurance.
