The National Green Tribunal on Friday expressed its disappointment with the non-responsiveness of the Delhi Jal Board for not taking any remedial action against the bad odour from the Sewage Treatment Plant, Kondli in Delhi. The NGT was considering the issue for remedial action as the Sewage Treatment Plant was not operated as per norms.

The National Green Tribunal's Principal directed the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests to take remedial action against the illegal cutting of 150 trees by postal authorities at Postal Training Centre, Vadodara, Gujarat.

The Supreme Court today has opined that NGT is an umbrella body created to ensure all bodies under Schedule-I of the NGT Act work in tandem while considering the issue as to whether the National Green Tribunal has suo motu powers or not.

A three-judge Supreme Court bench directed the matter of UK Flood victims to be remitted back to the National Green Tribunal for fresh consideration on merits. It admitted the appeal and directed the Original Application before the NGT to be revived.
