A Delhi High Court bench has issued notice in a plea by AAP Government against the decision of Lieutenant Governor in allowing appointment of Delhi Police’s chosen Advocates as Special Public Prosecutors (SPP) in cases related to farmers’ agitation and North East Delhi riots.
The Delhi High Court has directed the Delhi Police to continue the security provided to the petitioners and to file its status report in a plea seeking judicial inquiry & constitution of a court-monitored SIT filed by parents of a nine-year old gild child who was allegedly gang-raped and murdered.
The plea filed is Supreme Court seeks enforcement of fundamental rights guaranteed under Articles 14 and Article 21 read with Article 21A of the Constitution of India. The plea also seeks to take a holistic, equitable & speedy decision in regard to re-opening of schools.
The plea was filed in Delhi High Court by All India Bhrashtachar Virodhi Morcha, a registered NGO challenging various amendments brought about by Delhi Government in the New Excise Policy for 2021-2022.
The Full Court is pleased to observe that physical hearings in the District Courts in Delhi may be resumed in a restricted manner with effect from August 16 on an experimental basis, subject to further orders, based on evaluation of the situation of the pandemic in the NCT of Delhi, said Delhi High Court
