The Civil Judge at Dwarka Courts in the national capital, issued summons in the matter while observing that prima facie case has been made out in favour of the plaintiff association. The Court, thereby, restrained the liquor vend from being opened in the alleged area till the next date of hearing.
Delhi High Court bench however, refused to grant any interim stay on the tender notice floated by the Government for bids for the grant of zonal retail licenses for the sale of liquor.
The petition averred that the policy facilitates monopolistic cartel, while debarring the non-super-rich from entering into the competition. It enables the licensee to recover taxes from the public and non-payment of the same to the government

Delhi High Court has disposed of the liquor traders plea directing to make new excise policy for 2021-2022 and the single bench led by Justice Rekha Palli was informed by Dr. Abhishek Manu Singhvi that the New Excise Policy will be put on the government website by the end of the day.
