The Central government on Wednesday defended the legality of the new Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, in its counter affidavit filed in reply to a challenge to the constitutional validity of the new IT Rules.
WhatsApp on Friday informed the Delhi High Court that it has decided not to enforce the new privacy policy till the Personal Data Protection Bill, 2019 comes into effect. WhatsApp also said it won't enforce new privacy policy till data protection bill comes into force.
The transfer petition has been filed in Supreme Court by the Centre in the wake of pending matters before various High Courts across the Country challenging its new IT Rules.
